World Spay Day In Malawi 2018



ALL CREATURES Animal Welfare Trust will hold yet the biggest World Spay Day ever in the country. It is anticipated to have 8 veterinarians, four veterinary nurses, two education Officers and 13 veterinary students. 

This year's World Spay Day shall be held for four days 24,25,26 & 27th this February in Chinspao, Lilongwe the Central business district of Malawi. The team project to sterilise over 5,00 dogs in that period.

You are therefore requested to bring all your dogs on the above mentioned days. Ensure that the dogs are starved the night before in order to limit associated risks during aneathesia. We also appeal to all the well-meaning people to come and support this drive to reduce the number of straying dogs and reduce canine rabies in the area. The support can come through physical presence, especially animal health professionals and teachers or through in-kind support like food and water for the volunteers.

All sterilised dogs shall be given free rabies vaccination, dewormers, and flea medication.

ANIMAL WELFARE? WHY?

Do you remember reading or watching “The famous five” when you were growing up, or maybe “Tin-Tin” or watching “Beethoven” the adopted mischievous yet adorable canine? Tin-Tin’s endless adventures, him and captain Haddock, surely you must have loved finding clues and following on until we got the bad guy, hahaha “we” because we all felt like an integral part of the whole adventure, all the sniffing and scurrying, the dead ends and the starting over, it was exciting! If you paid close attention, in fact, even without paying much attention, you probably noticed that it seemed Tin-Tin couldn’t have sniffed out any bad guys without the faithful Snowy, nor could the famous five have bagged any criminals without Timmy, come to think of it, Mystery Inc. would not have done much without the timorous yet ever reliable Scooby doo to the effect that the whole show is named after him! Lucky Lulu

Lulu is a very friendly dog who was rescued by the police while she was being sold as a pup by roadside vendors, along with seven other puppies.  Five of the puppies got adopted, and two are remaining. Lulu is good with other dogs and people. She is a bit timid, which is good because she doesn't like fighting.  She came to ALL CREATURES in November of 2016.
